Writing a Chapter for a Free Advertising Opportunity The NNBA is looking for real-world stories from nurses in their own words, written in the first person, and not necessarily a sophisticated piece of writing. The articles will be included in a fourth edition of the book Nurse Entrepreneurs: Tales of Nurses in Business published by the NNBA, a respected, trusted, and well-established, small-press publisher. The book, first published in 1993, sells well nationally and is sold by major bookstores. Don’t miss this opportunity to advertise you and your business nationally, be published, and to give back by helping other nurses become well-informed of their self-employment opportunities. The NNBA has engaged managing editor Lou Belcher to collect articles for the book. Nurses are asked to write a chapter on: what they found most challenging about being an entrepreneur and how they met the challenge; the advantages of entrepreneurship; or how they became an entrepreneur (if they have not already written that story for an earlier edition). Details for the nurse interested in participatingThe chapter should be engaging and specific to your slice of the nursing world. Please write the chapter in the first person. A good place to start is with an introduction, such as, “I am (your name) and I want to tell you about…”. The chapter should be between 750 and 3,000 words with a minimum of 350 words. If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact NNBA's managing editor, Lou Belcher (footsteps@mindspring.com). Lou will send you a link directing you to the contributors contract. Your chapter will be edited to ensure it matches the NNBA writing style, but editing will not change the content. If Lou needs more information from you or a clarification of what you have written, she will contact you shortly after she receives your chapter. Sincerely, Patricia Ann Bemis, RN CEN, President 1-877-353-8888 |
